I have been working on a technique that I learned from Judith Dale, an artist who designs large art quilts with delicate lines and beautiful pastel colors. It requires a great deal of accuracy and as I am discovering, is more easily done by hand than machine when the curves are tight. I like the finished look but not sure about the time it takes to do! I have made the first layer and you can see the rice paper pattern beside it that I will use to guide me in adding embellishments. I am also trying a new backing for support, a firm non-woven interfacing, rather than batting. I want this piece to look flat, not quilted. I will eventually wrap it around a canvas to finish it. I'll keep you posted.

Hi Maureen! I finally had a chance to check out your web-site. Cool! Your fabric designs are AMAZING! I love the colors and the way you can take fabric and create pictures and designs that make a picture. You have an amazing gift! I love the way you are open to new techniques to add to your tool kit. I can't wait to see what comes next!
